Tony McConkey, 46, is a native Marylander, who graduated from
the University of Maryland in 1986 and 1990 with degrees in
government, business, and law. Tony has worked in the
community as a Realtor for 26 years. Tony lives in Severna
Park with his wife, Susan, son, George, and daughter, Edna.
Tony has been involved in politics since 1982 serving on a
number of campaigns including: Pascal for Governor '82, Reagan '84,
and co-chairing a successful tax cap campaign in 1996. From
1995-2002, until his election to the House, he served on the
Republican State Central Committee. Tony has worked his entire
adult life to help bring Republican ideals to Maryland.
As a member of the House of Delegates, representing District
33A, Tony has worked specifically on several issues including
brownfields, lead paint, and affordable housing. In the
county, he has been a consistent advocate for school board reform
and has introduced a number of bills to allow the citizens of Anne
Arundel County to elect their school board.
